I’m Greg Smith. I’m a RoundRock ISD Instructional Technology Specialist. I work with teachers helping them and preparing them to incorporate technology into their everyday curriculum and life. I’ve created this blog to help them along their journey and support our professional development sessions.
I’ve been in education for 12 years now. I have worked as a 4th grade teacher, computer / technology teacher, and currently serve in the role of Instructional Technology Specialist. Before working in education, I worked as a youth minister for 10 years. My life has always been centered on working with people and helping them grow in knowledge as well as helping them grow as individuals. My philosophy has always been, “I don’t teach curriculum or content, I teach individuals.”
I also provide in-house training, as a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer, that insures K-12 Students, Teachers and Administrators are successful in using Google Apps for Education in their role.
Participants will learn how to use the suit of Google Apps for administrative tasks, communication and most importantly in the classroom as an instructional tool. Training varies from 1/2 days to multiple days depending on needs. Training can focus on the technical aspects or on integration into the core content areas. I offer basic sessions that introduce users to Google Apps and a more extensive Power Users training for those that need to go beyond the basics. You can find my listing in the Google Apps Market Place for more information or email me directly.
I hope that you will find my site helpful. I look forward to reading your comments.
